JupSat Applet V1.0 Place the files in this archive in a subdirectory off the directory where you keep your HTML files (e.g. name the subdirectory: jupsat). Add the following lines to the HTML file in which the applet will be displayed:

That's it! You can test the applet using the included JupSat.htm file. Notes The applet displays Jupiter and the four main satellites (Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto) in realtime. The distances of the satellites from Jupiter are in proportion to that of the real Jovian system. The left-to-right order of the satellites are given by the satellite names displayed in the lower left box. Satellites names in red indicate that the satellite is being occulted (behind) by Jupiter. Satellite names in yellow represent transiting satellites. Once the applet is installed, anyone clicking on the image of Jupiter or any of the satellite images will be taken to the appropriate page at the Nine Planets site. Clicking on the ? displays a brief description of the applet (in the applet itself) and clicking on the globe (lower right) brings you to my home page. One final note: Netscape V4.01 has a problem with its date routines and the local time may not be correct - it should be the same as your PC clock. These problems (at least partially) appear to have have been solved in V4.04. If anyone finds any bugs or problems with a specific browser (or version) drop me a line.
